IDEA/CONCEPT
This piece explores the idea of collective memory, identity, and time. The three figures, reminiscent of ancient sculptures, symbolize continuity—echoing the past, present, and future. Their stoic expressions contrast with the vibrant, chaotic graffiti background, representing the tension between permanence and impermanence, tradition and reinvention. The cracks in their forms hint at history’s fragility, while the vivid splashes of pink, blue, and orange breathe new life into the classical aesthetic.
EXECUTION & PROCESS
The artwork was built through a combination of precision and spontaneous street-art techniques. The statues were rendered in fine detail to maintain their timeless elegance, while strategic paint drips and layered graffiti elements were added to blend them into the contemporary environment. Neon highlights were introduced to create depth, making the figures appear as though they are emerging from or dissolving into the urban landscape. The dynamic composition invites the viewer to reflect on how history shapes the present and how art can bridge different eras.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
The past is never silent. It speaks through cracks, through echoes, through reinvention. This piece is about legacy—how we carry history with us, reshape it, and give it new meaning in the world we create today.
