IDEA/CONCEPT

This striking mural represents the omnipresent gaze of history and culture. The intense, hollow eyes reflect an ethereal, almost haunting presence, symbolizing the fusion of the past and present. The rich contrast between electric blue and fiery reds adds to the sense of duality—cool observation versus passionate energy. The subject, reminiscent of classical sculpture, takes on a new life in an urban setting, reminding viewers of timeless beauty amid modern chaos.

EXECUTION & PROCESS

The artist meticulously built up layers of paint, blending bold strokes with fine detailing to create a textural, almost weathered effect. The deep, shadowy contours of the face provide a three-dimensional illusion, while the background’s abstract splashes of color add movement and intensity. The use of raw brushwork combined with spray paint drips enhances the mural’s raw, expressive nature.

PERSONAL REFLECTION

This piece is about presence—the way art can stop you in your tracks and make you feel watched, acknowledged, and understood. It’s a conversation between the viewer and the past, told through color and texture.
